OPTICAL REPEATERS

Frog Cellsat's range of Optical Repeaters uses RF-over-Fiber technology to enhance coverage where fiber is readily available. The system comprises of two working units:

1. Master Optical Unit: MOU is directly coupled with the BTS and is placed close to the BTS location. It converts RF frequencies into optical signal and transmits this signal to the Remote Optical Unit through fiber optic cables.

2. Remote Unit: ROU is placed remotely at the location where signal coverage is to be enhanced. This unit converts the optical signal back into RF frequencies, to be transmitted using a service antenna in the Uplink. The mobile signal is also amplified and retransmitted to the BTS in the opposite direction.

Frog Cellsat's repeaters can work on all major technologies including CDMA, GSM, DCS , WCDMA and LTE. Monitoring, control and diagnostics can be easily done, with Local and Remote Monitoring features, available in our repeaters.
